Organisers of the upcoming UKFast Santa Run at the Salford Quays have announced that the event will be supporting Key 103’s Cash for Kids Mission Christmas campaign. As part of the support, runners taking part in next Sunday’s event (29 November) are being encouraged to bring along a present to donate to the appeal.
Now in its fourth year, the Santa Run is an ideal way to kickstart the Christmas celebrations with hundreds of Santa-clad runners descending on Salford Quays. Starting outside the BBC offices, the course moves into the Lowry Plaza at The Lowry Outlet Mall, passing through the Christmas Victorian Markets, past the Imperial War Museum and over the new bridge before finishing in MediaCityUK square.
Each gift donated by runners will be given to a disadvantaged child; the charity is looking for new and unwrapped presents for children and young people aged 0-18. The Mission Christmas present drop off point will be located in the The Studio, on the first floor mezzanine at the MediaCityUK Piazza.
Sports Tours International race director, Graham Jackson, comments: “We’re extremely pleased to welcome Key 103 Cash for Kids to the UKFast Santa Run. We welcome lots of families to the event each year, so we’re thrilled we can support this cause which helps disadvantaged children across the region. Those who wish to run for a good cause but don’t already have a chosen charity can run for Key 103 Cash for Kids.”
The event is part of the Sports Tours International portfolio, which also includes the highly popular We Love Manchester 10K and City of Salford 10K races. Entry is available via their website, while you can find out more information on Cash for Kids Mission Christmas Campaign here.
