The Asda Foundation Bury 10K returns for its second ever race this Sunday (17 September) with the event once again organised in partnership with I Will If You Will (IWIYW), a fitness movement in Bury that’s helping women, girls and their families to be more active, more often. Part of the popular Run For All series founded by the Jane Tomlinson team, the 10k made a successful entry on the circuit last year with over 1,300 runners competing.
Starting and finishing close to The Rock retail and leisure venue, the 10K entrants will follow a route that will see them pass Bury Parish Church, the Fusilier Museum, Bury Art Museum, along Manchester Road, Dumers Lane, Bury Road, Radcliffe Road and back towards The Rock.
As with 2016, the race has teamed up with the IWIYW movement, which is funded by Sport England and delivered by Bury Council. Since being launched four years ago, more than 17,000 people have been involved with the programme, 90% of whom are female.
Speaking about the continued partnership, Lynne Preston, Run For All Event Manager, said: “We’re enormously pleased to be again working in partnership with I Will If You Will in organising the Bury 10K. There was an incredible atmosphere around last year’s event and we look forward to experiencing that once again.”
