Registrations for the 2015 edition of the Sheffield TenTenTen opened last week with organisers announcing a great response from runners so far. Since being established in 2010, the race has become a firm favourte in the calendar and is once again expected to attract over 1000 runners on 18 October.
The first event took place on 10 October 2010 and the name - TenTenTen - has stuck ever since. A scenic two-lap course, the route has been devised to give competitors an experience of a multi-terrain format with the 10k taking in parkland, winding tree covered paths and trails.
Last year’s race saw Sheffield RC’s Will Beauchamp take first place in 36:11, with Steve Franklin second (36:57) and Beauchamp’s club-mate, Alex Jordan Charles Plant, third in 37:03.
Emilie Verroken led the female field home in 44:11, with Hallamshire Harriers’ Jodie Thake following in second place (45:04) and Caroline Brock (45:18) rounding off the top trio.
This year’s 10k is scheduled for Sunday 18 October and will also include a 2.5k fun run. Registration is priced at just £19. More information is available here.
