While the PB potential is definately not high, that is made up for in the beautiful scenery and stunning views along the course. With a free sticky toffee pudding for all finishers welcome at the end, many runners were keen to share their thoughts on the event.

"Despite the driving rain and howling wind, I thoroughly enjoyed the Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding 10km run. The weather was truely miserable but the incredibly varying terrain made it very enjoyable and I most certainly didn't get bored on my way round. The marshals were supportive considering the conditions and there were still some great views down into Morcambe Bay"

"This was my first trail run, usually only consider road races. Wasn't expecting quite so much mud (very silly of me) and although the course had a few 'nasty' inclines and was very slippery under foot, it was brilliant fun and has definitely made me want to sign up for more trails! Well organised with very friendly marshals and the sticky toffee pudding made it even more worth while. Will be adding this one to my diary for next year, might even consider the 18k!"

"Lots of fun, great atmosphere, loved the mud, the water and especially the sticky toffe pudding! I normally do road races so I signed up for this as a bit of fun and to get the sticky toffee pudding and I have to say its one of the best races I have done. It was such fun, lovely scenery and great atmosphere. There were some killer hills which did make me grimace at times but some nice downhills to make up for them. Particularly enjoyed crossing through the river as at 4'10" I wasn't quite sure if I would be swimming or running! Thank you to the organisers and marshalls for a fun event"
