Organisers of the JCP Swansea Half Marathon are inviting runners from across the UK (and further afield) to visit Wales in 2016 for the third running of their award-nominated event. 8,000 places are available for the Sunday 26 June race, with early bird rates (£29 for affiliated athletes/£31 non-affiliated with medal and a technical t-shirt for all finishers) until Friday 4 September.
The JCP Swansea Half Marathon takes place on fully closed roads and is Wales’ second biggest half marathon. The race has been growing in size and popularity since the inaugural event took place in 2014, with entries sold out in 2014 and 2015. The event was also a finalists at The 2015 Running Awards for the UK’s Best Half Marathon and is quickly establishing itself as a must do race.
Organisers are hoping to attract runners of all levels from across the UK and beyond again to run #FromTheCityToTheSea. Runners from 25 different nations took part in this year’s race. Starting and finishing in the city centre, the flat, fast route will take runners along Swansea Bay to The Mumbles and back, boasting six miles of stunning coastline, beautiful views and fantastic crowd support.
A video capturing the atmosphere and highlights from the 2015 race is now live on the event website.
