The Christie will once again be the official charity for the UKFast City of Salford 10K, race organisers Sports Tours International have announced. Based in Manchester, The Christie is one of the largest cancer treatment centres in Europe.
Last year, participants taking part in the UKFast City of Salford 10K raised an incredible £20,790.00 for the charity. Such donations allow The Christie to fund new developments to enhance the care they provide patients and aid new research projects to buy specialist equipment to keep the charity at the forefront of scientific breakthroughs and developments.
Aislinn Walsh, Sporting Events Fundraising Co-Ordinator at The Christie commented: “We are delighted to once again be one of the official charity partners for the 2018 UKFast City of Salford 10k and are excited to be part of this event for the third year running.
“We look forward to welcoming as many runners as possible to join Team Christie and through their fundraising, helping to make The Christie the exceptional place it is for our cancer patients and their families.”
One of Sports Tours International’s most popular events, the UKFast City of Salford 10K regularly draws in fields of 3,000 plus runners. A large attraction is its impressive course, which takes in MediaCityUK Piazza and Salford Quays.
This year’s race is scheduled for Sunday 9 September and registration is priced at just £21, or £19 for affiliated club runners.
