Tough Mudder Hits Moors And Beyond

Tough Mudder YorkshireMomentum for The Tough Mudder adventure series is building with a series of adrenaline-packed events set to take place across the country over the coming month, with the first taking place at the Yorkshire Moors. Known for its obstacle filled course, Tough Mudder has become one of the leading names in adventure racing.

First up is Yorkshire on 1 and 2 August where competitors will face a course of mud, woodlands, streams, moors (of course) and bogs. The upcoming event will also include ten exhilarating new obstacles, including, “King of the Swingers”, a pendulum swing off a 12-foot platform; “Dead Ringer”, a traverse across a series of inclined pegs using handheld rings; and “Cry Baby”, a tunnel crawl through a tear-gas-like substance.

For those who took part last year, expect some reinvented obstacles: “2.0” versions of classic challenges, including redesigned ice water plunge “Arctic Enema” and slicked quarter pipe “Everest”, will put even seasoned Mudders to the test.

Sony, the official smartphone and SmartWear sponsor of Tough Mudder for 2015, has recruited Saturday’s singer Vanessa White and broadcaster and writer Rick Edwards to join ‘Team Sony’ and take part in Tough Mudder Yorkshire. The team will be embarking on a tech-inspired training programme using Sony’s latest SmartWear devices – SmartWatch 3, SmartBand Talk and Xperia Z3 – to prepare for and tackle the course together.

Following Yorkshire, the Tough Mudder series will visit the south west (22 and 23 August), north west (12 and 13 September) and London south (26 and 27 September). More information is available at the event website
