Top Clubs Chase Big Prize At Tameside

Tour of Tameside 1994

Clubs in the North West will have a significant financial incentive at this year's Tour of Tameside with details just released of an impressive £500 team prize. The area's top clubs will not only be running for glory at the event which features three races in three days (19-21 June) and mixes fell, trail and road running but also a team jackpot of £500.

On top of the individual prizes on offer, all runners who are members of a UKA affiliated team will be entered into the running club team challenge. The finishing times of the top three runners  from each team across all three races will be accumulated to reveal the team with the fastest overall time, who will win £500 to hand over to their running club.

The Tour of Tameside kicks off with the 6 mile Copley Fell Race on Friday night, continues on Saturday with the High Peak Half Marathon and completes on Sunday 21 June (Father's Day) with the Hyde 7. You can enter any of the three Tour of Tameside events individually.

The Tour of Tameside adds up to a 'marathon' test - 26 miles across the three events, and is the ideal charity challenge.  Local charity Tameside4Good or the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund would be delighted to hear from you if you would like to run the Tour of Tameside in their colours.

Prizes up to £250 for each individual race for both men and women will be awarded and the overall winning male and female for the Tour of Tameside will each receive £500 plus a trophy, giving individual runners the chance to win £1250 overall if they win all three races.
