The behind-the-scenes changes at the Trafford 10K has had little impact in the event’s popularity with the new organisers announcing that the 2019 race, scheduled for Sunday 10 March, is already more than half full.
In September, Dave Norman announced that he would be stepping aside as organiser of the popular 10k. Norman had been in charge of the race for 20 years and had seen the event become a cornerstone of the Northern racing calendar, known for its welcoming, friendly atmosphere and strong PB potential.
Less than a month ago, Run North West announced that they would be taking over the organisation of the race. With a portfolio that includes the Wilmslow Festive 10K, Alderley Edge 10K and Southport Seaside 10K, the news was met with positive approval from the running fraternity.
In a recent Facebook post, Run North West confirmed that entries for the 2019 staging are flying: “We are over half full in only a few weeks since announcing that we will now organise the famous Trafford 10K and wish to alert you that entries will soon be full. Total entries are limited to 950 and so we will sell out fast.”
Registration for the Trafford 10K is priced at £18 (£16 affiliated) and are available here
