Can you handle the hills of Hexham?! The Tynedale 10-Mile Jelly Road Race will be held alongside the new 15-Mile Road Race on Sunday 18 September at 11am.
Starting and finishing at Hexham Racecourse, the highest point of the Tyne Valley, these demanding, hilly races will avoid any built up areas and make the most of Hexhamshire’s peaceful minor roads.
The courses are accurately measured 10 or 15 miles of spectacular views, super fast downhills, challenging uphills and some meandering, flattish sections to get your breath back! Save some energy for the final tough climb back up to the racecourse to claim your well-deserved finisher’s technical T-shirt, sandwich and of course JELLY!
The races are perfect preparation for an autumn marathon such as Kielder or Yorkshire. All finishers will receive a technical souvenir T-shirt to prove they were tough enough! Free parking, toilets and number collection will be at Hexham Racecourse, Yarridge. All runners will be rewarded for their hard work with free jelly (including vegetarian jell) and a sandwich after the race, with refreshments available for families to buy. There is a generous prize fund, including prizes for winning male & female teams.
Entry fees are £18 UKA attached and £20 unattached. To avoid disappointment and guarantee a finisher’s T-shirt in your size, enter by 19 August.
Entries are available online only via the Tynedale Harriers website.
