With 6,000 runners expected to turn out for next week's Leeds half marathon, the city's Up and Running branch is hosting a preparation day for all those taking part in the 13.1 mile race. The store event, which takes place the day before the race on Saturday, May 13, will be offering last minute pre-race tips and advice for recovery from running expert Mike Hendricks of Optimum Health from lunchtime until 6pm. This will be followed by yoga and stretch out sessions to ensure you are fully limbered up for the big day.
Now part of the popular Jane Tomlinson's Run For All series, next week's race looks set to be the most popular in its 26 year history. Indeed, organisers of the half marathon had to increase the capacity for 2012 due to high demand.
The Leeds Central Up and Running store is located at 38 Boar Lane, LS1 5DA. Both sessions are free, although booking for the event is essential. You can contact the store directly or visit their website.
