Webb Masters South Cheshire 20

David Webb

Over 200 competitors took part in the South Cheshire 20 on Sunday (7 September) with David Webb of Telford AC winning the men’s event in 1:47:56. Webb was a London Olympic marathon hopeful in 2012 before getting injured.

Dave edged out 2013's winner Ben Gamble of Tipton Harriers who finished two minutes behind him in 1:49:56. In the women’s race, Webb’s clubmate Michelle Clarke finished first in 2:16:23.

Participants took to Twitter afterwards to comment on the race. Adrienne Hall said: “South Cheshire 20 done in 3:01 - didn't race it & felt strong for it. Bring on Berlin.”

Ian Hammett also commented: “6th place 2:05:08 today at South Cheshire 20. Great run, felt brilliant, had more to give.”
