Always Aim High has confirmed the return of the SportPursuit Conwy Marathon for next year, with entries now open. In what will be a boost for the event, organisers have announced that the event has been selected to feature in the North Wales Regional Athletics Council Road Running Championships.

Last year’s race was seen as huge success with runners enjoying stunning scenery and breathtaking views of the North Wales coastline. Starting on the iconic Victorian promenade, the routes takes competitors around the awe-inspiring Great Orme.

Moving past the Conwy Castle World Heritage Site to the nostalgic Colwyn Bay Promenade, runners then double back along the stunning beach front to finish back in Llandudno.

The 2020 event, scheduled for Sunday 27 September, is expected to attract over 1000 participants. Organisers have confirmed the addition of both 10 and 20 mile distances to further enhance what is on offer.

Race director Tim Lloyd commented: “We’re so happy to bring the SportPursuit Conwy Marathon back to Llandudno after a great first year in 2019. It’s been a really popular addition to our calendar and this year we’ve added the 10 miler & 20 miler distances too.

“We’re really looking forward to staging next year’s event, especially as now we’ve been awarded the NWRAC Regional Championships for the marathon race. Top level athletes from all over the region will be coming down to take part, we can’t wait!”
