Wirral Half Marathon & 10K

Great sea view for runners at Wirral Half

The Wirral Half Marathon & 10K event (Sunday 8 September 2019) guarantees runners a fast course for both distances. And a dramatic start and finish at New Brighton looking out across Liverpool Bay.

The early miles provide the best view of the famous Liverpool skyline as the course heads down to the Seacombe Ferry - cue Gerry Marsden singing 'Ferry 'cross the Mersey!'

Heading back along the waterfront promenade for miles 3 to 6 runners will be able to check out the competition and hand out High 5s as the pace picks up along this really flat terrain.

Around the 6 mile mark 10K runners will split off for the finish as they wave goodbye to the half marathon contingent who continue along the promenade on a flat route through to mile 9.

Moving on to Leasowe Road and the 10 mile marker, runners will get a sense of just how well they are doing before heading back on the the upper part of the waterfront promenade with the finish line almost in view.

If you like your course flat then this one is for you - which is why we have introduced a bonus PB medal for anyone who achieves a PB on the day... conditions apply but it's there if you want it!
