With less than a month until the Cooper Parry Corporate Relay Challenge, organisers have announced there are limited places left for the event. Now in its 9th year, the challenge is growing in popularity and has established itself as a firm fixture in the running calendar.
Taking place on Sunday, September 11, the relay event is open to teams of five, with each runner covering just over 2.5 miles of the course. The race will see competitors running alongside the Robin Hood Half Marathon, which starts and finishes on the Victoria Embankment.
The challenge is aimed at business teams wishing to improve health, fitness, and team spirit at work, whilst raising money for charity and giving something back to their communities. The Cooper Parry Corporate Relay Challenge remains the UK's largest corporate relay event and is hoping to reach a cumulative fundraising target of £250,00.
This year, the Corporate Challenge will be supporting the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust, a charity that seeks to create life chances for young people. What's more, all relay teams fundraising for the Dame Kelly's Holmes Trust will be invited to a unique masterclass with the former Olympic champion.
Dame Kelly will be offering expert running tips during the build-up to the relay and will hold a training session prior to the event. The training session will take place on Thursday, September 1, at Nottingham's historical Council house.
The entry fee for each team is £250 and prizes will be awarded to those finishing in the top three positions. If you believe this is something you and your work colleagues will enjoy and want to snap up the final few places you can register at the event website or by contacting Melanie Campbell on 0115 958 0212.
