The Petzl Nightrunner Rivington
Rivington & Blackrod High School, Bolton, BL6 7RU
Round 3 of the Petzl Night Trail Running Race Series is our last race of the series and takes place at Rivington. Rivington has a reputation for UFO sightings. The huge radio masts on the top of Winter Hill acts as a magnet for all things unexplained. It seems fitting to make the last theme of the night running series a "close encounters" theme.
This event is the most "difficult" of the 3 night runner races. It is the hilliest & the most technical underfoot. The terrain is very rocky both up and downhill and there is a usually a lot of mud on the moor which can make for quite a slippy section. Trail shoes are a must as is a good quality headtorch as there are no lights on the course at all.
