Date confirmed for Run Sunderland Festival 2019

Run Sunderland Festival

Organisers of the Run Sunderland Festival have released the first details of the 2019 staging of the event, revealing it will take place on Sunday 12 May. With registration also opening, race director Steve Cram suggested interesting some developments were in the pipeline for 2019: “We’ve got some very exciting new plans for next year, which we will unveil soon, so watch this space!”

It’s time to Dash

Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash

This Sunday (3 November) will see the 33rd year of one of the north’s most anticipated events, the Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash. The race is expected to draw in close to 12,000 participants, with course record holder Eilish McColgan set to compete and aiming for a third successive victory.

Cheshire 10K adds to fast festive events

Cheshire 10K

There are a series of northern events – the Wilmslow Festive 10K and Doncaster 10K are just two of many – that offer not just an opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit but represent a real chance of hitting a late season PB. Another on the list is the Cheshire 10K, which, according to Lucy Harfield from race organisers RunThrough, will showcase a 'fun and frantic morning of running'.

Festive spirit returns to Pennington Flash

Festive Flash Five

The Festive Flash Five will make a welcome return to the circuit next month when it celebrates its fourth staging on Sunday 25 November. As is now accustomed, participants are encouraged to get into the festive spirit by wearing Santa hats, Christmas jumpers or fancy dress, while organisers have again promised to arrange the mulled wine and treats for all finishers.

Jingle Bell Tolls For 2018

Jingle Bell Jog

Sports Tours International’s festive fun run, the Jingle Bell Jog, is set to return on Sunday 2 December and entry is open to runners, walkers and joggers plus runners with dogs and buggies. Entries for the event are now open, with registration priced at just £16 (or £11 if you provide your own Santa suit).
